It was a thing of a joy for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Cross River State as two of its corps members,  Valentine Abang Bisong with State Code CR/19B/0155 and Kuma Ngunan Elizabeth, with State Code CR/19B/2309 exchanged marital vows, a day after they both finished service.

Corps member Valentine Abang Bisong, a graduate of Educational Foundations and Administration (Elementary Education) from the Cross River University of Technology, CRUTECH, hails from Ogoja Local Government Area of Cross River State, while his new wife Kuma Ngunan Elizabeth who studied Literature in English from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria is from Gboko Local Government Area of Benue state.

According to official release from the NYSC in Cross Rivers State, the couple said they never met before until one of their clearance days in September 2019 where they had their first encounter.

Recalling how their love journey began, Bisong said, “I was originally posted to Cross River state, and my wife was posted to Kebbi state, but she relocated to Cross River state. We met each other here in Cross River State University of Technology, CRUTECH, which happens to be our Place of Primary Assignment, PPA. We came to know that we were in CRUTECH when we came for a meeting in our desk Officer's office. But the first place I took note of her was during one of our monthly biometric clearances in Calabar South Local Government Council.

“What attracted me to her was her demeanor. The second time we came for clearance was when we eventually got close to the point of even talking with each other because she's always very quiet. What led to this union was a conversation she struck with me in September 2019.

Bisong disclosed that it was in December that he took the bold step and offered to meet her family.

“So in January I travelled to Benue to familiarize myself with her family, and after that I met and spoke with my family too and that was how we got married and we've known each other for a period of seven months”, he explained
